Based in Tucson, Hank Topless is a country blues singer-songwriter who has performed alongside notable artists including Junior Brown, Kinky Friedman, Joe Ely, and Reverend Payton’s Big Damn Band. He has been a finalist in multiple “Best Of Tucson” awards in the country music category.
Growing up on a central Arizona ranch with country music influences, Topless initially pursued underground rock before transitioning to country around 1990. He founded the Tucson underground-country group Topless Opry (2000–2004), whose 2002 album “No Phoenix Blues” gained recognition for its honky-tonk rendition of a Lou Reed composition.
His solo work includes the critically acclaimed albums “It’s So December” (2011) and “Big Black Heart” (2017).
